FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: SCHOLARSHIPS
Partial scholarships are available to qualified degree students and are applied for each term of study rather than annually. Continuing education and online distance learning students are not eligible for scholarships. Payment plan options are available for all Maitripa students to assist in tuition costs. Please email studentservices@maitripa.org for more information.

Maitripa’s Administrative Office collects deposits, tuition, and enrollment fees received through the application process. It accepts tuition payment during Maitripa's designated registration period at the start of each semester and will send out reminders for each payment type agreed to by the student. Payment is due upon receipt of notice except in the case of a pre-arranged payment plan (see information on payment plans below).
All accounts should be up to date for the students to be able to attend each session and to receive final grades. A student that fails to comply with his/her financial obligations will be contacted by our Financial Office. Students not complying with financial obligations may be asked to withdraw from their degree or continuing education program.
Tuition which remains unpaid after the final day of the term will begin to accrue a monthly interest fee of 6% until it is fully paid.
A student may terminate enrollment at any time by written notice of intent to Maitripa College by postal mail, hand delivery to the Administrative Office, fax to (503) 231-6408, or email to studentservices@maitripa.org
Refund Policy
If the student cancels the enrollment contract before the semester begins, Maitripa College will refund the money owed to the student within 30 days after the notice for cancellation has been received by the school. Students will be fully refunded within 30 days if the school cancels or discontinues a course. Note that the $25 registration fee is non-refundable except in the case that a student registers solely for a course which is subsequently cancelled or discontinued.
Fees & Refunds
Maitripa College will maintain fees and refund policies that are fair and uniformly applied to all students. Maitripa College will not change its fee policy during an academic year and will announce possible changes previous to the registration period before the start of a new academic year.
Tuition will be charged by the credit hour for instruction during an academic semester. No student is obligated to pay for tuition charges for a term that has not commenced if the student withdrew, or for a term that was truncated by cessation of school services.
- A non-refundable application fee of $25 must accompany each application for admission to a Maitripa degree program
- A non-refundable registration fee of $25 is required by Maitripa College when a student registers each term. This amount is not applicable to the student’s tuition costs and this applies to all students. Re-registering to add courses does not require an additional $25 fee.

Payment Plans
In the case of financial need, students may request a payment plan in order to cover tuition in installments.
Payment plans are offered at the discretion of the administrative office and must be approved before the term begins. Students are responsible for proactively adhering to the installment schedule and making payments on time.
Payments can be made via the online payment system at www.maitripa.org or by check delivered by hand to the administrative office or by mail to: 1119 SE Market Street, Portland, OR 97214.
In the case of unanticipated financial emergency during the course of the term, students on a payment plan should contact Student Services as quickly as possible at studentservices@maitripa.org or 503-235-2477 to address remaining tuition.
Payment installments may be structured to begin before the term commences, but all tuition must be paid by the last day of the term. If tuition remains after the final day of the term, an interest fee of 6% will accrue monthly on the remaining amount due. Note: In the case of a student paying in installments in the current term who has remaining unpaid tuition from a prior term, the monthly interest fee of 6% will accrue on the total of all tuition owed, not simply on the prior term’s remainder. Students offered the opportunity of a payment plan are expected to pay all tuition owed by the end of each term as a condition of the plan.
See the table below for payment plan terms:

If a student on a payment plan drops a course (during the first two weeks of a full semester term) or withdraw from one (after the first two weeks), it is possible that this action could result in the student still owing money for the course. As a general rule, students on a payment plan should intend, for their benefit and that of the college, to complete all courses for which they have been registered.
